5 - Day Itinerary

Start: Marrakech | End: Marrakech, Fes, Ouarzazate, Rabat, Tangier or Essaouira

Day 1

Arrive in Marrakech and check into your traditional riad in the medina. Meet your local guide for a relaxed orientation walk through the souks and hidden courtyards.

 

Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, then enjoy a sunset tea on a rooftop terrace overlooking Jemaa el-Fnaa. Dinner in a family-run restaurant featuring authentic tajines and Moroccan salads.

Day 2

Visit the Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, and Majorelle Garden, learning the stories behind Moroccan architecture and design. In the afternoon, join a hands-on cooking class in a local home or rooftop kitchen: shop for spices in the souk, then prepare traditional dishes like chicken with preserved lemon or vegetable couscous.

Day 3

Head into the High Atlas Mountains and stop in Imlil or Ourika Valley. Visit a Berber village, enjoy mint tea with a local family, and learn how tajines are slow-cooked over coals. Light hike or mule ride available.

Day 4

Cross the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the Atlas Mountains. Visit a pottery village along the way and arrive at Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous kasbah. Explore the ancient alleys and meet a local artisan or cook who will prepare your dinner with regional flavors.

Overnight in Ouarzazate (breakfast & dinner included)

Day 5

Drive back to Marrakech with stops at panoramic viewpoints or spice gardens. The afternoon is free to relax, shop, or visit a hammam. In the evening, enjoy a farewell feast with live music, traditional pastries, and a final toast to Moroccan hospitality.

Day 6

Enjoy lunch with a sea view and perhaps try a surf lesson or beach camel ride. End your evening with grilled fish at a local café and a sunset over the ramparts.

7 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 7

After breakfast, depart Essaouira and take the scenic drive along the Atlantic coast. Stop for a short visit at the majestic Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca—one of the largest and most striking mosques in the world, perched right over the sea. Continue to Rabat, Morocco’s relaxed and elegant capital, where you’ll settle in for the evening.

8 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 8

Today you’ll explore Rabat’s imperial past and peaceful streets. Visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the white-and-blue Kasbah des Oudayas, which overlooks the ocean. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a garden restaurant, then explore the nearby Andalusian Gardens or take a break with tea in a historic home.

9 - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 9

Depart Rabat and begin your journey inland. First stop: the ruins of Volubilis, Morocco’s best-preserved Roman city, where mosaics and columns still tell ancient stories. Continue to Meknes, a former imperial city with grand gates and a quieter charm. Visit a local market or stop for lunch in a small olive oil farm. Arrive in Fes by evening and settle into your traditional riad.

10+ - Day Itinerary Extension

Day 10

Today, dive into the rich history of Fes el-Bali, one of the world’s oldest living medinas. Visit the Al Quaraouiyine University, Chouara Tannery, and various artisan quarters. Meet zellige tile makers, brass workers, and embroiderers who carry on centuries-old techniques. In the afternoon, take part in a hands-on cooking workshop or enjoy a guided tasting tour of local street foods.

Day 11

Enjoy a day trip to Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Walk its blue-washed alleys, visit the local kasbah, and enjoy a peaceful lunch at a rooftop café. This slower-paced day is ideal for reflection and scenic photography. Return to Fes in the evening.

Day 12

Option A: Enjoy a relaxed final morning in Fes — shop for last-minute souvenirs, visit the Jnan Sbil Gardens, or return to your favorite café. Transfer to Fes Airport for departure.

Option B (Extension): Drive to Tangier, stopping along the coast or in Chefchaouen again if needed. Once in Tangier, take a short guided tour of the medina, the Kasbah Museum, and see the meeting point of the Atlantic and Mediterranean at Cap Spartel.
